The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the admission deadline for the January 2024 semester until July 31st, giving potential students more time to submit their applications.

The extended deadline for “Fresh Admissions” and re-registration in all ODL/Online programs for the January 2024 session is July 31st, 2024. An official notice from IGNOU states that once the application is approved, a non-refundable registration fee will be added to the program’s cost for the first semester or year.

Steps for the IGNOU Registration Process:

To register for the IGNOU January 2024 session, perform the following steps:

  • Step 1: Visit IGNOU’s official website.
  • Step 2: Complete the registration form’s Eligibility criteria.
  • Step 3: Scan and upload all the documents required.
  • Step 4: Verify the information and pay the registration fees.
  • Step 5: After finishing the process, download the confirmation message or email for further use.

Documents Required for the IGNOU  Registration:

The following documents are required for the IGNOU registration process. These documents must be the specified size as listed below:

  • Student photo at passport size (100 KB) 
  • Signature of the student (100 KB)
  • Scanned copies of educational certificates (200 KB)
  • Required a scanned copy. Caste Certificate (If you belong to SC, ST, and OBC) of file size of 200KB.
  • A scanned copy of experience proof (if you have any), of file size of 200KB.

Key Points:

  • Students should pay their fees using credit cards, debit cards, or online payment methods. 
  • Students should keep screenshots of their applications and successful fee payments for future reference. 
  • If a student wants to cancel their enrollment in programs after 60 days from the admission portal’s closing, the cost will not be returned. 

In a previous update, IGNOU alerted students, “If your online payment is not updated immediately, please do not make a second payment right away.” Wait a day, verify the payment progress, and make your decision.”
