Assignments

IGNOU takes assignments from every student of every course and students need to submit them before the last date to appear in the term-end examination. Students can find the assignments of any course on the official website of IGNOU and along with the last date. IGNOU gives 30% weightage to these assignments and students must keep themselves updated regarding all the details of the same. Students can either submit assignments online or offline at their regional center.

Exams

IGNOU takes exams in two academic cycles: January and December. The exams of each semester carry 70% weightage and if a student fails in getting passing marks then he can give exams in the next cycle during the duration of the course.
