Printed Study Material

Despite the fact that IGNOU provides The M.Sc Physics programme is offered online, however, the university meets all of the self-study needs of students. Students have the option of ordering printed books, which will be delivered to the address provided on the application form. Students must pay an additional fee if they want printed study materials at the time of acceptance.

Online Study Material

IGNOU provides students with a variety of digital tools for self-study. Students can access the eGyankosh portal, which serves as a repository for books and research papers. Apart from that, IGNOU has its own mobile application where you can find and download books in PDF format. IGNOU e-content app is the IGNOU mobile application for online study materials, which you can readily access on Playstore.

Counseling Sessions

IGNOU provides counselling or introductory sessions at weekends to describe the university and the course to students. Students will get weekend counselling sessions for 6 weeks at their nearest centre.

Audio and Visual Lectures

In comparison to the past, IGNOU has achieved remarkable strides. Audio and visual lectures are available at the university, and students can attend them on the following platforms:

• Screening of Lectures at Study Centers
• Recording which can be purchased
• Live Lectures on platforms like SWAYAM etc.

Radio Lectures:

IGNOU hosts a number of interactive sessions in collaboration with All India Radio and Phone-In Services. Gyankosh, GyanDarshan, Gyanvani, and a variety of other programmes are offered to introduce you to the curriculum.

Assessments

Exams and assignments will be used to evaluate a student's performance at IGNOU. Students in any subject will be given questions to answer as well as practicals to complete as assignments. Students are expected to do well on homework as well as term-end exams.

Assignments

IGNOU accepts assignments from all classes, and they must be delivered on time in order to be considered for final exams. Both course assignments and due dates for each subject can be found on the official IGNOU website. IGNOU weighs thirty per cent of this work, and student supervision is required. Students can apply online or at a regional centre near them.

Examinations

Every year, exams are held in June and December. Exams account for 70% of a student's grade in each class, and if a student fails a test, he or she can reapply in the following cycle. For example, if you failed the exams in June, you can reapply in December.
