IGNOU Extends Admission Application Deadline till 31st August

The Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for July 2024 session for fresh and re-registration applications. Earlier the last date for application was till 14th August 2024. This extension in admission registration pertains to all the ODL and Online programs offered at IGNOU. 

IGNOU has issued a notification on X (formally Twitter) stating “The extension of last date for July, 2024 Fresh Admission  & July, 2024 Re-registration till 31st August, 2024 in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode. “ This extension in the application deadline has provided another opportunity to all those students who could not register themselves till 14th August.

Students can visit the official website ignouiop.samarth.edu.in for registration for Online courses and ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for registration for ODL courses. 

Document Required

Students interested in ODL and Online courses must be prepared with the following documents before registration-

  • The most recent passport-size photo of the student (Max. 100 KB)
  • Scanned Signature of the Student (Max. 100 KB).
  • Scanned copies of academic qualifications(Max. 200KB).
  • Scanned copies of the category certificate, for SC/ST/OBC/PwD (Max. 200).
  • A scanned copy of proof of relevant experience (if any) (Max.200).

Steps to Apply

Interested students must follow the steps below to complete their application for IGNOU ODL/ Online programs- 

Step 1- Visit the official website of the IGNOU.

Step 2- Fill out the registration details required by the university.

Step 3- Attach scanned photograph, signature, and all other relevant documents asked by the university.

Step 4- Review the application form and pay the application fees. 

Step 5- Submit the application form after fee payment.

Step 6- Save the confirmation email sent by the IGNOU on the registered email ID. 

 Registration fees at IGNOU

Students registering for the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma Courses at IGNOU are required to pay the registration fee of INR 300. If any student is willing to cancel his/her application before the confirmation of admission, IGNOU provides a full refund of the program fee. However, if the admission of the student has been confirmed, IGNOU withholds 15% of the fees or 2000 whichever is lower. IGNOU does not entertain any fee refund post 60  days of closing of admission applications.
